eventually, are we all going to have to kill and steal to survive ?
i work in the personal fitness training field, sell cell phones and work at a small town grocery store.
i previously worked in a factory (making wood flooring - really miss the pay and benifits!!)
all of these jobs that i’ve mentioned are in jeopardy.
the flooring factory just laid off all of second shift (about 300 total)…
people are cancelling their cell phone plans left and right due to job losses…
no one has the disposable income for a personal trainer…
and the grocery store i work in is probably not going to renew their lease due to poor sales…
there are job closings all over.
how are we in this small town going to make it?
the only reason i am making it now is b/c i took out my 401k from my previous job.
the money i make doing my 3 jobs now barely get me by.
i just wonder, with few places for people to go and jobs going to other countries and the economy the way it is…how are we going to survive if it gets any worse?
unemployment rates are so high, i am living in so much fear that i don not want to even have children, b/c i don’t want them to have to struggle to survive, too.
these jobs that i have mentioned are about all that my small town has to offer, and nearly every business actually still standing just seems doomed

before money and material wealth this country survived on trading “goods” for an honest day’s work.
we don’t even have that thanks to economy, greed and outsourcing.
my guess is there is a high possibility.
Nah, it will probably never get to that point. The economy will slowly get better, more jobs will be available. It just takes time. But if it somehow doesn’t, then it could happen, just as it does in some African countries.
Marxism plus electric, solar, and wind power possibility.
Communal property then helps.
Communal money also stops armed robbery and theft.
if you feel that way, you should have been preparing for it. buy an extra can or two every week, then have the means to keep what you have.
some things will be better than money.
Once the world runs out of gasoline I bet that will happen. A lot of people will probably die due to starvation or armed robbery over food. Plus by that time the world may be getting to the maximum human population which it can handle. Those who survive will have to go back to local farming and trading for local goods. It’s sad that most people in our country have no idea how to make it on their own if there were no grocery stores or walmarts.
i agree
i often think about selling myself
but i could only make a few $ extra (im 2 old)
well i hope not kill, maybe forage, also one does not have to stay where life is hard to sustain,i know moving is having to leave family and friends but some times you just have to go,
Honey… that is not what u should worry about….u know that don’t u? even in third world… all outsourcing is gone… and guess what they are even worst hit. they always are.exactly like big towns still get by but small towns come to a stand still.
problem is not that jobs are being given out…. problem was taking big loans without having any money to pay for them…. problem is credit card debts…. unless people get wise about money in big countries and learn to take responsibility for their spendings…. this cycle will go on.
to prepare against this one must save…when the times are good…invest in long term securities…. of lowest risk.
we are all burnt… we all hve to be strong and give time for us to heal;.
