A McCain loss will prove that the GOP is in serious trouble. If the GOP wins, 4 more years of Republican incompetence and corruption will kill the GOP for good.

On the off chance your assumption is correct and McCain loses, it will not be the end of the Republican party.
More likely Obama will lose in a landslide after a few more mistakes in interviews, and a strong third party will spring from the disenfranchised liberals who will see the best course of action is to look towards compromise and not an all or none mentality.
MCCain is up by 10 points,,,, Bush is not running for office ,, mcCain is… !!
The party will not end, nor should it, but it should seriously reconsider it’s platform. The country is changing, and the religious right is ruining the Republican party. People go to church in less numbers than ever, and religion is just not as important to a big percentage of people as it was decades ago.
If the party wants to stay viable, it needs to be more like McCain and back off from the extreme right. Let them come up with their own party. They need to take their party back. Perhaps they can merge with the Libertarians and stand for again what the party USED to stand for - less government involvement. It doesn’t really stand for that anymore due to too many special religious interests.
If McCain wins what does that say about Dems lose twice to a chimp and once to McChimp I would say the end of the democratic party
